Love, compassion and blessings can flow within a church
community. Many people find spiritual
nourishment within organized religion, and some of the greatest spiritual
leaders I have known are well established within local and national religious
organizations.
If you are spiritually fed and feel called to remain in church
THIS BLOG IS NOT FOR YOU
However…
One of the fastest growing group of believers are those who identify themselves as “SBNR,” Spiritual but Not Religious. Many within this group are seeking to experience God in a way that they are not finding within organized religion. Without connections and community, many fall away into a spiritual limbo where God becomes more distant and faith waivers.
Of course, many of the SBNR’s may return to organized religion and find peace and blessings beyond measure. Regardless of where their journey takes them, it is important that believers find a community inside and outside of the church to encourage and connect with other seekers.
The same God can be found within and outside of organized religion, and it is my hope that we all understand the need for each other.
